Council of Educators Launches National Credential Framework for Performing Arts

Miami, Florida — August 14, 2026 — The Council of Educators Registry today announced the official national launch of its performing arts credentialing framework, a system built around the high standards set by its Network of Endorsed Faculty. Designed as an "Eagle Scout" equivalent for the performing arts, the framework transforms years of studio training and public stage experience into an official, college-recognized record of achievement.
Rather than auditing technical execution, the registry’s framework formally validates the non-technical outcomes of dedicated performing arts training. Functioning as the benchmark around which the registry validated its model, standard-bearing educators curate the classroom environments and performance platforms that cultivate student growth across three core pillars: character values, global awareness aligned with UNESCO values for the performing arts, and the performance poise developed through high-visibility public showcase.
Honoring the Everyday Work of Elite Educators
The framework was built specifically to recognize the transformative work that top-tier faculty and studio directors deliver in their classrooms every day. While Endorsed Faculty provide the benchmark of excellence and the performance platforms that elicit strong character, the registry allows approved Credential Partners to offer these verified distinctions directly to their students.
"For generations, young performers have invested thousands of hours mastering their craft, yet lacked a universally understood distinction to showcase that dedication on college applications or resumes," said Dr. Carrie Straub, Board Member of the Council of Educators. "Just as Scouting has the Eagle Scout rank to signal discipline and leadership to university admissions boards, our framework serves as a national benchmark for the performing arts. We are not evaluating technique and artistry. We are validating that years of studio training and public performance have developed a poised leader ready for college and beyond: an accomplished performer."
A Multi-Tiered Credential Horizon
The framework establishes three distinct milestones honoring a student’s ongoing journey and character growth:
Foundational Performer Certificate (FPC): Honors early childhood performers (under age 10) by recognizing early character development, positive studio citizenship, and foundational stage presence.
Accomplished Performer Credential (APC): The flagship national distinction and premier "Eagle Scout" equivalent for performers ages 10+, requiring at least four consecutive years of active studio dedication, 40 validated structural entries, and demonstrated growth in global awareness and performance poise.
Specialized Conservatory Credentials: Advanced specialized tracks, such as the Bharatanatyam Conservatory Credential (BCC), unlocked after meeting APC prerequisites to document specific classical lineage and artistic heritage.
Expanding the Network and Partner Opportunities in the Launch Year
As part of its inaugural launch year, the Council of Educators Registry is actively expanding its Network of Endorsed Faculty and accepting applications from prospective Credential Partners. Studio owners and educational institutions seeking to offer these national credentials to their students must meet specific institutional criteria, including a demonstrated commitment to character-driven training and public performance opportunities.
